シリコンバレーにおけるビッグデータ最新動向　～Strata会議報告

シリコンバレーにおいては、ビッグデータのブームは地に足がついた段階にはいっている。今年2月末のビッグデータ・カンファレンスでは、技術そのものよりも、ネット企業とそれ以外の一般企業の種々の現場での利用にフォーカスが移り、数多くの活用事例の報告があった。またその中でも、従来のバッチ処理型ではなく、センサーからデータを集めるリアルタイム型のアプリケーションが特に注目されている。

In Silion Valley, Big Data is already past the hype stage and coming into the execution stage. In this year’s Big Data conference, the focus has shifted from technology itself to the real life application, and many case studies were reported from Web companies as well as enterprise in various industries. Among them, real time processing apps are particularly getting more attention, compared to more batch style apps in the past.
